New Skates...
South River, NJ: Chester Fried, National Roller Skating Museum Vice-President and roller skating columnist, now has new skates. Better yet, they’re from the 21st Century Retailer and not some flea market special. For those of you who don’t know Chester, he still uses a manual typewriter that punches holes in the paper he writes his columns on, drives a 1972 Chevy Convertible, has skating memorabilia from the 20s-present, has dial telephones in his home, and he refuses to open the computer someone gave him so it’s still in the original box)! For Chester, this is a giant step into today’s world! Chester’s skates came from RS Gazette advertiser Skates US, Inc, owned by David Ripp is the importer of these Italian Roll-Line Skates. The Edea Classica Boot is lightweight and has no break-in time period, as with the older boots.
Chester commented, “I put on these boots and skated away. I could not believe that the boot was so comfortable right-away. I remember years ago giving some of the kids in our skating club a dollar an hour to wear my new boots to break them in,” reminisced Chester. “It was pinball or soda money for them.”
Chester talked about his new plates and wheels. “The Energy Titanium plates are very strong yet light in weight, and very responsive to edges made while skating. The Grease wheels have an extensive quality roll and grip. Along with David’s new Micro Bearings, these top of the line skates are the best you can get! I’ve finally entered the 21st Century! I LOVE MY NEW SKATES. Call David Ripp at Skates US, Inc. Phone 765-935-7477 or visit his website at www.SkatesUS.com . David is the smartest person I know that has full knowledge of skates & boots for the artistic skater.”
